Open Air Cinema

The church bell chimes eight
As we get to the gate
And the beauty of Caversham Court
There's something exciting
About fresh air and film
A release from the work day so fraught

With a beer in hand
And a hot dog from stand
As dusk falls, the film can start
A bat flits past
The large, bright screen
An extra, a fly by part

A boat wends the river
And a sweet, happy shiver
Runs down the whole length of my spine
What could be better
Than a beanbag and film
In such beauty and weather so fine

The film end draws near
I wipe off a tear
It's a film I've seen twice before
But the story, along with
The great atmosphere
Leaves me weepy and wishing for more

So film is all done
Must all now go home
We gather our bags and our friends
An exited, bright chatter
Reviews film and venue
And how we all want to come back again
