London feels crazy tonight
There's something in the air
Maybe it's this close, grey blanket
Its hot, sticky fingers
Wrapped around the city's neck
Its heat, an oppress
Of sweat and of stress
London feels crazy tonight
The slope to the station
Previews swarms of waiting people
Like bees buzzing, angry
Desperate to escape the hive
Trains are delayed
Tempers are frayed
London feels crazy tonight
My train finally leaves
Fleeing the tense, edgy atmosphere
To the safety of fields
To the promise and safety of home
Welcoming arms
A feeling of calm
