The Shambles

Between the walls of northern stone, 

an escape to another world.
Story etched cobbles would mark the passing,
of merchants, dwellers and visitors alike,
boots of Vikings,
stains from the butchers blood and 
the Gardy-Loo from overhanging timbers.
Yet they are all swept clean by the swoosh of ghosts,
protecting the secrets made
in the Snickelways.
